Golf Matters

Privacy Policy

Effective July 27, 2026 · Last updated: August 26, 2026

Golf Matters ("the App") is developed by Data Action Studio ("we," "us," "our"). Golf Matters reads public PGA Tour statistics and turns them into plain-English stories. It does not ask who you are: there are no accounts, and we never receive, see, or collect anything you do in the App. The only server we operate is a content server that hands the App its weekly tournament statistics; it receives no information about you. This policy explains where your information lives, what the App talks to, and the choices you have.

The Short Version

Everything you enter — your favorite players, your own golf numbers, your winner pick, your posted round — is stored only on your iPhone. None of it is transmitted to Data Action Studio or to anyone else. The App collects no analytics, shows no ads, uses no tracking SDKs, and does not ask for the advertising identifier. We could not identify a single Golf Matters user if we tried.

Information the App Stores on Your Device

All of this lives in the App's own local storage on your device. It is not synced to iCloud, not backed up to us, and not shared with other users. Nothing in this list ever leaves your phone.

Where the Golf Data Comes From

To show current tournaments, leaderboards, and player statistics, the App uses public golf data from two providers:

These requests ask for tournament and player information only. They carry nothing about you — no account, no device identifier, no location, and none of the entries listed above. Our content server keeps no logs of who downloaded the package. Responses are cached on your device so the App fetches as little as possible. Both providers are credited in the App under More → Data Sources and on every shareable card. Their own handling of web requests is governed by their respective privacy practices.

Notifications

The App can send you a weekly heartbeat about the tour week ahead. If you allow notifications, they are scheduled and delivered locally by your own device — there is no push server and no notification token is ever sent to us. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

Location, Camera, Contacts, and Health

The App does not request or use any of them. It has no location features, takes no photos, reads no contacts, and connects to no health or fitness data.

Sharing Cards

When you tap share on a card, the App renders an image on your device and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice, and we are not told about it.

Purchases

If the App offers a paid subscription, purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment details; we only learn from Apple's on-device receipt whether a subscription is currently active.

What We Collect

Nothing. There is no analytics package, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind in the App. If you email us for support, we receive only what you choose to send us, and we use it only to help you.

Children's Privacy

Golf Matters is a golf statistics app for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because everything is stored locally, deleting the App from your iPhone removes all of it — your favorites, your entries, your picks, and the cached golf data — permanently. You can also clear your own entries inside the App at any time. We hold no copies, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App changes. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date above.
